What began as a simple desire to fashion my very own pottery mug in 1994 quickly evolved into a life-long passion for creating with clay. Hello, I’m Cherie, a self-taught potter and clay instructor. My small home studio is located in Farmington, Maine.

I find inspiration in the organic shapes, earthy hues, and natural patterns I enjoy while exploring the woods surrounding my home. My ceramics are handmade by me, using both my potter’s wheel and hand-building methods. I prepare my glazes from scratch following established recipes, and use natural oxides to achieve the calming earth tones that bring my clay surfaces to life. Pottery is fired in oxidation (my electric kiln) to around 2,230 degrees Fahrenheit, turning clay and glazes into long-lasting, ceramic treasures. Designed with comfort in mind, my thoughtfully-made ceramics encourage connection and an appreciation of life’s little joys.

Using my handmade pottery at home brings me a smile. I hope that my ceramics radiate the same joy for you and become a treasured part of your everyday.
